Teton Gravity Research, extreme sports production house well known for pushing the limits of new technology approached us about filming some amazing helicopter ski jumps as a part of their 3D experiment. 21st Century 3Ds Jason Goodman filled the role of the stereographer with Pedro Guimaraes assisting.
We provided a side-by-side and a beam-splitter rig with RED cameras and Angenioux lenses that were mounted inside of a helicopter at times to capture this incredible footage.
You can read more about this experiment on TGR website.
Very useful content with excellent ideas. I really appreciate your post, thank you for sharing. The process of skiing downhill using a helicopter is what is referred to as heli-skiing. Heli skiing has gained a lot of popularity with countries such as USA, New Zealand, Himalayas, Nepal Chile , Canada and others having areas that are very popular for this activity. Helicopter ski is a bit expensive owing to the fact that it is very difficult to operate and keep the helicopters in good shape. The problem of visibility can also pose a very big challenge especially when the weather is inclement.
