We spent last weekend shooting a music video in 3D that involved putting our rig with two MX Red cameras on a Scorpio stabilized head and driving the whole setup over the bridge a few times.

We were going against strong headwinds but the rig handled extremely well and we were able to get some incredible shots.

Michael Phelps Presents Swim Spas by Master Spas

21st Century 3D recently went to Baltimore to shoot an infomercial with Michael Phelps for Master Spas. Cat Studios hired us to capture the 8th time gold medalist in action. Lucky for us, we were able to test out our new RED Mysterium-X sensors. See below for pictures!

Light the Wick 3D soon on DVD - TGR/21st Century 3D production

21st Century 3D stereoscopic cameras were used on Light the Wick 3D shoot at Stevens Pass with Sammy Carlson, John Spriggs and Byron Wells.

Jason Goodman was the chief stereographer and 21st Century 3D did the 3D conform for the DVD. Hint: It looks awesome!

The International 3D Society conducted their first 3D University on July 17 and 21st Century 3D's CEO Jason Goodman was among the presenters.  Others included Phil Lelyveld of the USC ETC, Phil McNally of Dreamworks, Lenny Lipton of Oculus 3D and Steve Schklair of 3ality.

In the 1950's when television came out and the box office at the cinema plummeted, 3D was used to woo people back to the theaters although the 3D films from that era were not very well reviewed -they're what we would call B movies. There was a bit of a 3D revival in the 1980's when the VCR came out and Hollywood panicked again thinking that the audience would stay home and watch the films on beta and VHS so there was a slew of 3D films during the 80's. Tool free design

Easy setup and camera alignment are achieved via a completely tool free design that allows maximum control with minimum fuss.  Hand operated dials allow easy adjustment of roll, pitch, yaw and vertical position.  Turn a knob to make an adjustment and when your images line up, stop turning.  There is nothing to lock down and no set screws to throw off your precise adjustments.

Automation
BX3 allows you to choose fully motorized or fully manual mode.  By designing the rig without any on board motors, size weight and cost are kept at an absolute minimum.  In addition to full FIZ lens control, angular convergence and interocular spacing can be actuated with industry standard motors.  If you require minimum operating weight or are on a tight budget, manual operation may be suitable.

Months of hard work and diligent planing have finally payed off! Last week we witnessed our new 3D rig prototype come together with option to be fully motorized and remotely controlled.  The production line is gearing up, we are expecting to see the first batch of new rigs shipping as soon as next month.

The new BX3 offers fully motorized operation of IO and convergence controls when mated with a set of industry standard lens control motors of your choice.  BX3 is a unique solution offering the versatility of manual operation (lighter weight, lower cost) or motorized operation when maximum control is necessary.
